Boynton Beach: its people and lifestyle.

When you talk about relocating to Florida, Boynton Beach comes to mind. Boynton Beach has been noted for its beaches and vegetables found at local farmer's markets since 1895. Boynton Beach is surrounded by a couple of communities like Delray Beach, west Palm beach, etc. Locals can also commute in less than an hour from Boynton Beach to Miami to enjoy all that the big city has to offer. About two hundred years ago, most parts of this city was swampland and there were several lakes in the area. Hence, living the Native Americans living in the nearby areas include the Jeaga, the Ais, and the Tequestas.

In 1895, the Florida East Coast Railroad had established a train station here and several stores had been opened.

Within a few more years, a post office was established, a school and churches were built, and the town was making a name for itself for growing and shipping tomatoes (and later pineapples) to the north by train or steamer.

A large hotel, The Boynton, was opened on the ocean at the end of Ocean Avenue by Nathan Boynton in 1899. By 1910, the Federal U.S. Census records the population as 670 residents.

The town was incorporated in 1920 as “Town of Boynton,” but changed its name in 1941 to “City of Boynton Beach.”

People of Boynton Beach

Since the late 1980s, the number of people residing in Boynton Beach has more than doubled. With more people moving to this city, the population has grown to 74,483 residents, with a median age of 42.

With each passing year, the area also becomes more diversified. According to census data, the population of Boynton Beach is 51 percent Caucasian, 30 percent African American, and 17 percent Hispanic or Latino. The gender split in the city favors women, with 52.84 percent of the population being female and 47.16 percent male.

Cost of Living

While the neighborhood accommodates a diverse range of lifestyles, the cost of living in Boynton Beach is around 10% higher than the national average and approximately 7% higher than the Florida average. While you may expect to pay less than average for things like healthcare and utilities, you should expect to pay more in this city for groceries, transportation, and housing.

When it comes to finding a place to live, the average in this city is $270,862. This increased by around 3% in the previous year but is currently expected to decrease by about 2% in the coming year. When looking for homes for sale in the town, the options range from modest, inexpensive condos to enormous, opulent estates worth millions of dollars.

In this town, new high school graduates will not have quick admission to any local colleges. They may always attend Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach, which is around 14 miles away.

Boynton Beach is home to a plethora of exciting outdoor activities. Other fantastic sites to visit in Boynton Beach are Harvey E. Oyer Jr. Park and Palm Beach Hydro flight, in addition to the previously mentioned Ocean Inlet Park. Because of the year-round pleasant weather in the community, many of these options are available.

Summers are moderate and sunny, with highs in the mid-80s and lows in the mid-70s. Winters are mild, with temperatures in the low 60s and low 70s and around 61 inches of annual rainfall.
