Miami’s History

Many years ago, long before the Europeans arrived, the Tequesta inhabited a huge part of southeast Florida, including Miami.

The Tequesta were a Native American tribe that lived in this space. Miami was incorporated in 1896 and began with 444 citizens under the name, “The City of Miami.” Flagler, the founder, financed and built the railroads, streets, water and power systems, and a resort hotel. 

The canals were done to help drain water from the everglades that covered the majority of the land at the time.

In the early years of growth, the Miami area was known as “Biscayne Bay Country.” From a few public accounts from that era, it was known as one of the finest building sites in Florida.

Miami has loads of spots where you can go to experience nature, chief of which are the national parks, native species of plants and animals at the local park and botanical gardens, including the country’s southernmost winery. 

The most fascinating is Kendall Park, which is surrounded by the natural beauty of South Florida. 

Miami, which is nicknamed “The Magic City,” has people of Hispanic, Jewish American, Caribbean, Haitian heritage, and others. 

The unique features of Miami

The largest collection of Art Deco architecture in the US is in Miami. Other unique features of Miami are that it has the largest cruise ship port in the world, and the first Burger King opened in the state in 1954. It is sometimes nicknamed the “Wreckcreational” diving capital. 

Real Estate in Miami 

Miami has some of the best real estate you can buy in the United States.

However, Real estate in the state is affordable and relocation is common because of the advantage of great weather. 

Talk about the amazing beaches in the city and the secluded although unique town, Homestead, which is still under development. 

But, You can get a townhouse for a single family at a range of $200,000 and $700,000. 

Another beautiful city is Durrell, a great suburb that is famous for its new luxury condominiums and townhouses.

 Another good one is Dora, this county has safe neighborhood, low crime rate and quality schools, both charter, public, and private schools. 

Pembroke Pines is also a great neighborhood, it is affordable, has great shopping areas and quality schools. 

Also close by is Miramar County that has fewer communities than Pembroke, new housing and affordable prices. 

This is a great choice. One other city is Parkland, which is in Broward. 

It is cheaper and newer, so if you are living in Parkland, you will get the best of both worlds. Proximity wise, Parkland is a great choice.
